Most colonial waterbird nesting sites are not shown on the map above.  Due to the sensitive nature of these sites and threats from human disturbances, the locations of colonial waterbird nesting sites will not be given. 

All nesting sites for colonial waterbirds are protected by state and federal law, and the National Audubon Society.  These areas are posted and patrolled daily by wildlife enforcement officers and Audubon wardens.   Colonial waterbird nesting sites are completely off-limits to visitors.
